One note about Amazon's patented one-click ordering. I invented one-click ordering several years before Amazon, and, unusually, had documented proof that I did (it was in a proposal to a not-for-profit corporation; it was included in minutes of the Board of Directors, and filed with the State of New York). I got in touch with EFF, who got in touch with Amazon. We were informed that Amazon only got the patent to keep some other company from patenting it, and had no intention of asserting it. The EFF agreed not to challenge the patent as long as Amazon didn't assert it (which they didn't).
