Re: 100 Years Of Burgers In Indianapolis
Sadly, despite living in the same quadrant of the city for over 50 years, I've only been twice, both in 2017. Many people order the tenderloin, but I'm there for the double cheeseburger. I saw a bunch of people ordering the chili on a really hot day.
I looked it up, apparently there are over a half dozen restaurants/bars in Indy that are over 100 yrs old, only maybe 4 continuously operating under the same name though -- St Elmo's, Shapiro's, Rathskeller, Workingman's Friend. Slippery Noodle is probably the oldest -- 1850. We got nothing on you east coasters though.
When XXX Drive-In in W.Lafayette had their 50th anniversary, they rolled back prices to the 1920s.
