29 Favorite Fall Pies

Saveur Magazine has published pictures and recipes of some fabulous Fall Pies. I'd eat them all if Buffetbuster & Love2bake didn't beat me to them!
My first choice would be #8- The Blue Ribbon Pecan Pie!
Which ones would be your favorite?

There are some beautiful looking and sounding pies on the list, but my top three would be:

    1) Chocolate Ginger Chess Pie
    2) Cranberry Chiffon Pie
    3) Roasted Pumpkin Pie

I have never heard of any of these and would love to try them!

Well, I'd eat the sweet potato pie, the roasted pumpkin pie and the apple pie. None of the others, thanks.

Great minds think alike CK!!!  I had that concord grape it Naples, NY and while it takes a few bites to get used to the unusual flavor, it was very good.

My list leans heavily towards those with nuts. These recipes look good to me:
    • Grizzly Bear Pie (walnuts and honey--baklava flavors)
    • Pumpkin Pie with Brown Sugar-Pecan Crust (praline-like crust--wow). I could imagine using that crust recipe and bake it a little longer, let cool and fill it with some other filling or ice cream (like butter pecan?)
    • Custard Pie (a very simple but delicious pie when served cold)

Well for sure--so would I--but I thought the question was our favorites.  Guess one doesn't know until one tries them all!

Personally I am not a fan of fruit pies. I've never associated fruits with dessert. However, the ones on this list look delicious! " />

    The three I'd roll with:

    1. Chocolate Ginger Chess
    2. Cardamom-Buttermilk
    3. Kentucky Chess

I am almost embarrassed to post this!

Simple easy mostly quick and fun.....and adapt as you like:

    1.5 cups heavy cream
    18 ozs chocolate bits
    1 prepared graham cracker crust

Heat the cream to just boiling  remove from heat   stir in the chocolate  when fully mixed pour into crust and refridge for at least 2 hours slice and serve(it's rich!...small portions!)

Fun stuff to do with it
Whipped cream and a few raspberries on the side
Make a caramel "crust" for it...hold back 1/4 cup of the chocolate and the  pour lines over the caramel
    Mandarin oranges with whipped cream
a bit of Grand Marnier added to the mix......not much! or vanilla
    Use Heath bar chips instead
