Thank you, IndianaPete for starting this thread.
Along with some others, I have found it to be most useful and hereby ask more of my fellow RF'ers to contribute to it.
Really, this thread should be 20 pages long.

In no particular order
1) Rock Shrimp at Dixie Crossroads in Titusville, FL
2) Pizza at Varasano's (original location) in Atlanta, GA (I love Pepes, both clam or red.  I love Di Fara's.  Just love Varasanos more)
3) BBQ Pulled Pork at Webb's in Newport, Ky (only open on Fridays)
4) Lobster Tail Pastry at Auddinos in Columbus, OH
5) Italiano Deep Dish Pizza at Romeos (Many locations in Ohio, mostly in Columbus and Cleveland)
runners up, also in no particular order
6) pretty much everything I have ever eaten at Jeff Ruby's in Cincinnati OH.  Including the outstanding bread service.
7) Memphis Pulled Pork Nachos at Smoq in Cincinnati OH
8) Italian Pork Rabe at Tony Lukes in Philadelphia PA
9) Mama Mia Italian Sub at Campos in Philadelphia PA
10) Biscuits and Jam at Loveless Cafe in Nashville, TN

1. Jimmy's Old Town Tavern, Herndon VA.
2. El Pollo Rico, Arlington VA.
3. Sam & Omie's, Nags Head NC.
4. Tito's Tacos, Los Angeles CA.
5. Hal's Deli, Ithaca NY.

Dave, thanks for the tip on Jimmy's Old Town Tavern.  We really enjoyed ourselves there on a recent visit to NoVa.  Great food, great 'vibe', and wonderful people - an exceptionally rare combination, a true Roadfood oasis in the increasingly urbanized Dulles Corridor.
For those of you in NoVa who miss the late, great Whitey's (Washington Bv. @ Pershing) in Arlington - Jimmy's pretty much 'fills the void'.

Jim, Glad you could make it to Jimmy's. The owner is from Buffalo and the bar caters to Bills & Sabers fans and carries Buffalo staples like Buffalo Wings and Beef on Weck. They also male a fine cheese steak and poutine. I'm a bit biased since I live walking distance from the place and I'm a regular. I even used to be the house bassist for the Wed night open mic for a number of years.

BTW, it is practically across the street from Livin' The Pie Life, my new favorite pie shop.

We drove there for a Saturday dessert, but they had sold out an hour before closing. But, all was not lost as one of our "go-to's" is just down Lee Hwy from them.
I look forward to seeing them at the tippy-top of your next 'pie list'.  Until our next visit to NoVa I guess I'll just have to content myself with Emporium Pies here in McKinney.

That's a shame you didn't get to try any of their outstanding pies, but the fact that they sell out practically everyday tells you everything you need to know about the quality of their baked goods.  No doubt you will get another opportunity.  And as consolation prizes go, Emporium Pies isn't too bad!
