Not a big fan of shark.  I like my gumbo with oysters or crab or shrimp.

I've never had shark gumbo but would certainly give it a try.

I've never had shark. I have to admit to y'all that I am not well versed in what I think of as exotic food. I think I'd want a sample of someone else' before I committed myself. I can't help it, ya'll. I was raised by meat and potato, salt and pepper people and while I think I've branched out a LITTLE, I don't think the branch fell very far from the tree. The fanciest my parents got was salsa, Ragu, and Bleu Cheese. We didn't even know about salsa until we moved here in 1971. My father loved Pace on eggs and anything my mother made which he didn't like. Pace made it edible. Yes, even curry...

I used to love swordfish.  Until I was cutting one up and came across this HUGE parasite that was rimmed in black and green smelly goo.  I had to walk away from my cutting board and have my sous chef finish for me......and I'm not squeamish!!!  It was that nasty.

As for shark, I'm just not crazy about it.

Oh, Lord. That would do it for me. I'm not sure I'd be able to walk away. The choices would be likely to be to hurl or to faint." />

Daddy would use a crochet needle to hook the brains out of a freshly slaughtered hog's head. So I feel you on things that can make one squeamish a mite.
