Looks like a lettuce and tomato sub. If there is steak and cheese under the salad that's just wrong and Philadelphia has nothing to worry about.

Lettuce and tomato do go on a cheesesteak hoagie.

You should call it that if you're keeping the L&T on there.

I understand that Pennsylvanians do, and Pennsylvania is a mere 14 miles away from Chubby's.

Onions under the cheese, granulated garlic, sent out as ordered, photo taken on it's way out!

In Philadelphia, most places that sell cheesesteaks offer something called a "cheesesteak hoagie." It is a cheesesteak with lettuce and tomato. So you can offer both a cheesesteak (no L&T) and a cheesesteak hoagie (with L&T).

So now we’re wondering where this mystery customer hailed from, given their unorthodox order.
Hmmm.
Probably from some commie stronghold that likes health food.

Chewy,

How about offering the sandwich on the menu in two styles - Philly and Hoagie?

12 ounces of Ribeye!!!!! This may be the best Cheesesteak in the World.

Where's the Whiz?

I would go for the cheesesteak hoagie over a regular cheesesteak...add a little mayo and that red pepper relish.  Mmm!

It's a bastardization of I don't know what and I don't eat hoagies of any kind anyway (and yes, I'm originally a Philly girl). I take my cheesesteak plain. No onion, no this, no that. But that's just me. You go ahead and eat what you want and call it what you want. It doesn't make it like anything from my home town.

Looks good!  I'd give it a go but I might ask to hold the lettuce and tomato as I'm not usually a fan of them on most sandwiches.  Those fries look fresh-cut.  Are they?

I don't know about the "steak and cheese" name though.  I've never heard them referred to anything other than "cheesesteak" in Philly.  I found "steak and cheese" sandwiches to be pretty popular in Boston and parts of New England when I lived in Boston some years ago.  Not at all like the roast beef sandwiches found around the North Shore area and much more like a cousin to the Philly "cheesesteak".

This.
IMO, 'cheesesteak' is the classic Philly product. 'Steak and cheese' can be found on sandwich boards all over New England, with the nexus being just North of Boston. While I'd order a cheesesteak 'Whiz-wit', I'll take my steak and cheese with onions and mushrooms.

Frankly, I want to try the cheesesteak at Fred's Meat and Bread in Atlanta. Alton Brown declared it the best in the country, (with apologies to Philly). It certainly looks better than most I've eaten, (except, perhaps the ones that used to be served by Hungry Henry's in Alexandria, VA). Loads of meat (no salad) and cheese and a nice roll.
