I was wondering about him recently. We became fast friends thru this site, and he sent me treats from N.M a lot-and I would send him Wisconsin items. A true gentleman.

I've got to add Picky Peggy to the list. Although she didn't post here she did attend several road food events over the years with me. The last fun trip she and I ever got to take together was the Buffalo and Rochester bus tour in 2009. We were unable to ride the bus since she was on oxygen and it would've been quite hard for her to climb in and out of the bus.

She passed 2/17/2012.

And to note Dickie Estep was a first cousin of mine, he was a lot of fun to be around.

Mike - Additions made
BB - Thanks for the info on Dean, he was a unique guy, very generous, and fun to interact with

Another roadfooder that has not posted in quite a while (who also had some health concerns) is 6star?  Anyone know their whereabouts?

So sad to hear this, only 59 years old.  I saw fieldthistle's obituary on the web, and it included his photo- that was exactly how I pictured him. He will be missed.

I don't think this is the appropriate thread to ask. I never really give much thought about others who stop posting unless I know them on a personal level. He may have simply moved on or is busy with other things.

His posts regarding the VA area and the foods enjoyed there were well thought out and always presented from the position of one who knew. We have missed his presence over these recent years, and now will miss his contributions even more.

He was a special poster.  I was always sad for him as he had a very physically and mentally challenged son.  It was very difficult for him to go out to restaurants with him and he told me that it could be very embarrassing for him at times, as so many people were upset with being in the restaurant with him and his son.  It is sad to realize that there are so many people that are intolerant of handicapped people.

This is a thread that I wish didn't exist at all.
Unfortunately I do have some very sad news.
I found out via facebook that Roadfooder waltpiii passed away shortly after the new year. It was announced by his daughter. For those of you who know Walt, he attended a few of our New England meet ups occasionally with his wife, Denise. Although he lived in the Hartford area , he grew up in the Albany-Troy NY area and was a hot dog aficionado and well versed not only with the Troy area hot dog scene, but the Connecticut hot dog scene as well. Walt always had a good story to tell, was very personable and we will miss him.

In reading some local news from my hometown of Rome, NY, I found out that Roadfooder Patsy Pirillo had passed away on August 10, 2015.  I regret to say that I hadn't had contact with him in some time and I cannot remember his RF handle (I believe it was "ynotryme") but I thought folks should know.  He always had some great commentary about my Trip Reports from Central NY and gave me some helpful tips.  He was born in Rome, NY but had lived in Mansfield, TX for some time.  Here is his obituary: http://www.bottinifuneral...38f8590cf28330832b10c3
