A really big crabcake....
Long time no post. Work's been busy. Anyway I want to say once again how much fun I had at Crabfest back in April. Good time...good folks.
I found this particular little tidbit online even though it's practically in my backyard. There's a place in northeastern Baltimore that serves a 32oz crabcake!!! Now I cannot vouch for the quality of this cake, since I've never had it, but the challenge is there. I've got this on my list as a place to go and hopefully soon. When I do I'll let you all know if it's worthy of the Roadfood crew. I just thought it was pretty cool being that big. On a completely unrelated note I made a rack of ribs last weekend that was quite probably the best I've ever had....and they were simple to make. I have a gas grill (please hold the boos and thrown fruit) but I fired it up and turned one side on low and the other side off. I put some Mesquite wood chunks over the fire on the low rack. I rubbed simple salt and black pepper into the ribs and put them on the top rack on the non lit side of the grill. I let it alone for one hour. I then turned the ribs over and left them alone for an additional 40 minutes. Now your grill time like your mileage may vary so you have to keep a close watch on it.
These things came off so tender and tasty that they needed no sauce or seasonings.....even though my wife had to use some Open Pit on hers. Good Eats.
