Several from West Virginia. Why? Danny's in Connecticut. Why? Pink's. Why? Blue Ash? Why? I could go on, but I'll end with Brighton Hot Dog Shoppe. The hot dogs are tasteless, the "chili" is awful. But the grilled sauerkraut makes them edible. Oh, and I love Brighton Hot Dog Shoppe. You should taste their wedding soup.

Glad to see they had the Dew Drop Inn in Mobile on the list, (#59). That was one of the better dogs I've ever had. Also a pleasure to see Gus's on the list. Giving Alabama the hot dog love it deserves.

That's because Wisconsin is known for beer, brats, burgers, bubblers, cheese, fish frys, and kringle.

I'm waiting for Greg to deslide the list. Those things are impossible to view on a phone.

I guess that makes you the rankin' bassman...

I noticed that some of places also made MSN's "best casual dining" list.  They must put together the lists from a repository of individual reviews.

I am sick of these lists not including Coney Island Hot Dogs in Worcester MA. Even worse, the RI New York System weiners have been popping up on the list lately and they are garbage compared to Coney Island. Feh.

Thanks to John Fox and the New Jersey Hot dog Tour, and travels of my own, there are more than a few places here I have actually been to - not to mention places that, for some unexplicable reason,  I've missed  (why oh why did I miss Louie's in Buffalo when I was up there last year???) .

Seemingly better than most lists of this ilk.....

I wonder how many times Dan Myers got paid for writing the same article. Maybe he didn't get paid more than once, but should have been. You see, this list was a repost of a 2016 story on The Daily Meal. It seems The Daily Meal put this list up at least once before, in 2015. There even was a thread here on RF about it:

Thanks to Greg for desliding both articles, we have proof the 2016 article is a Summer Rerun:

What I find funny is that one of our local joints (Nathan's) was given a number of 2 in 2016 and a number of 75 in 2015. I don't have the time tonight to put everything on a spreadsheet, but a quick perusal shows the same places on the two lists, but in slightly different order.
