Anyone know the name of the restaurant in Lincolnwood?

It was the restaurant that was in the same spot as L. Woods is now, 7110 Lincoln, in Lincolnwood.  It was "something Inn" and I used to go to it with my parents around 1968 to 1974.  Pretty good supper club food.  What was it before?

The poster is talking about Lincolnwood, Illinois, a northern suburb of Chicago.  The restaurant is part of Rich Melman's "Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises" group.  Prior to its incarnation as "L. Woods Tap & Pine Lodge", it was another LEYE restaurant called "Bones".  The focus was upscale Barbecue at a reasonable price.  It was very popular for a number of years, and it came as a surprise to many when Melman reconfigured the place as "L. Woods" which has more of a Wisconsin, north woods supper club feel.

Before it was "Bones" it was an independent restaurant for many years, but the name escapes me.  A quick search of the internet didn't tun up anything earlier than "Bones".  You might consider asking the question over at LTHForum.com, a Chicago-centric Food Website.

Well that only took two years.  Good job silip!  Welcome to Roadfood.

EDIT: I guess I should have said, "Welcome to posting on Roadfood" since silip has been a member since 2008.  My apologies.  Hope it doesn't take you another eight years to make your second post.

EDIT #2: The funny thing is, my first girlfriend in high school lived about 1/2 a block away from the Kenilworth Inn(confirmed spelling).  I must have driven past the place about a thousand times in my youth and still couldn't remember its name.

Does that mean you didn't have a girlfriend until you got to high school, or that you had more than one girlfriend in high school. Or are you just doing a poor job of bragging?

No bragging, I can assure you.  I was definitely not a ladies man prior to high school and did not have a serious girlfriend until my senior year.  After that, the floodgates opened until I met the woman who would be my wife.  She pretty much saved me from a life of vice and debauchery.

    I'll never forgive her.

P.S. Happy Curmudgeon Day.  Have you ordered your bouquet of dead roses yet, or are you hoping to find a bargain tomorrow?

Buddy, I moved from the west side of Chicago to Lincolnwood in 1955 and lived off the corner of Kedvale and Lincoln, only one block from the park, police station, Brady's(steak house/bar/) Croyden China and The Keilworth Inn. Who was your girl friend? I probably knew her or her family. That was my neighborhood from 1955-1969 and I knew everyone in the neighborhood and we all went to Niles West. Maybe my younger brother or sister knew her.

Buddy, thank you for your good wishes. But we curmudgeons don't do roses, dead or otherwise. What we do whenever the opportunity arises is kick little kids and dogs.

I may answer that question in a PM at a later date.  At present I choose to keep the young lady's name private so as to spare her the public shame and humiliation of having dated the likes of me.

Ms. Ray would have been in the first grade around the start of my dating career.  Even I wouldn't stoop to those depths.
