Worn as a badge of honor, especially if they are sporting a sans serif "C" on their ballcap.

Day 3: Saturday N-minus-One Stop

We had heard so much about Meshuggah Bagels that we decided to start our Saturday there, and catch up with the Crawl later. With all the hype, this had better be good.

We arrived right at opening and were third in line, no wait. Pie Diva got the Bagel with Pastrami Nova Salmon and Capers, too. The most expensive damned bagel in the history of this planet. Behold the glorious bagel.

I had an economical rye bagel with a veggie schmear.

Meshuggah lived up to the hype. Best bagel I have ever eaten.

Day 3: Saturday First Stop

After a lap around the City/Farmers Market it happened. The Cortado Cumbre.

Coffee, ho'made pop-tart, gelato, ... and then the serious eating began.

What?  It stands for Friendly Illinois Bumpkin.  That's what the Cheeseheads told me, anyway.  Doesn't it?

Day 3: Saturday Second Stop

A quick run to Danny Edward's followed the City Market. Many of our stops in Kansas City seemed closely spaced, but required freeway transit and abrupt lane changes to exit to the left. We arrived safely.

We all promptly ordered and awaited delivery of our food. Those guys got theirs first.

We all got about the same thing.

Ribs and burnt ends were excellent. Pie Diva chose a smoked turkey sandwich.

Good fries. I might have tried the turkey. I think this was one of the better barbecue stops.

Next.

Missed it. We chose cultural enlightenment and social justice awareness at the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum and American Jazz Museum instead.

Day 3: Saturday Fifth Stop

LC's Barbecue was my favorite barbecue of the crawl.

These ribs were about the best I have ever eaten.

Good burnt ends and some mystery meat at the bottom, too.

"Just a bit outside."

Day 3: Saturday Sixth Stop

By the time we got to Brobeck's we were too full to eat. I nibbled on the ham salad and still wish I had eaten more.

This was at the other table. They did not share.

After this it was back to the hotel to rest and finish the refrigerated pie.

Day 3: Saturday Seventh Stop

Hayes Hamburgers was packed when we arrived. The Roadfooders persevered and soon had our butts in every seat of the restaurant. They even called in reinforcements to wash dishes upon our arrival.

Good flattop burgers.

And this thing. We were the only ones to order the fully loaded burrito.

A basic frozen burrito dropped in the fryer, then topped with Hayes chili, onions, and American cheese slices. It actually tasted better than it sounds.

Brad Joe,

That pee-water tinged glass on the right was cider. Boulevard brews almost anything.
