Buddy,

There's a common theme in your two threads. Maybe we can send Michael and Brad on a fastfood eating extravaganza. Be like one of those Hope & Crosby road movies - Road to Indigestion.

My participation will depend on who plays the Dorothy Lamour part.

I've always wanted to go to Portillo's, and I grabbed half a dozen Castles a couple of days ago, so I'm in.

I'm beginning to feel sorry for lleechef. But I'm sure someone will find room to take her on the main tour while Michael & Brad do their fastfood bonding.

If it's Portillo's and White Castle "for the win", what does the loser get?

Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea culpa.

After further review and careful inspection, it turns out at least two of the main attractions on this tour, Santiago's Puerto Rican Restaurant and Boston Fish Market, are closed on Sundays.  This causes problems on a couple of levels.

First, Sundays in general were the overwhelming winners in terms of availability for most people.  So, even if we moved the tour to the Saturday with the best response, about half The Contingent members would be shut out.

If we keep the tour on a Sunday, two real standouts, mentioned above, will be closed.  It will be a much weaker tour without them.

I'm wondering if the poor response for Saturdays was directly connected to the summer season.  If we postpone this tour until fall or even early December, will your Saturdays open up?

A little feedback please and I'll make adjustments accordingly.

Sorry and thanks,
Buddy

Saturdays are always better for me regardless of the season, although during the summer there are always 4 or 5 when Mrs. C and I will be at baseball games and a couple of others lost to vacation and whatnot.

Jeff,

I work on Saturdays now, so I will be out for most of the stops if we do change the day from Sunday.  However, I can always meet the crew for the last stop or two after I get out from work.

I live only 15 minutes from Des Plaines.  I can always visit these places on my own.  No biggie here.

The first Des Plaines tour was held in February, 2013!  Early December means we've still got a shot at late autumn weather.

I think both of those places are very strong and would be really missed.
If it was one or the other.....
Sat is OK by me....
Although Jul 15 and 23 have just been knocked out
