Beer, Brats, and BMW's Tour Saturday, October 5th

After two years of intensive planning, the Beer, Brats, and BMW tour will take place on Saturday, October 5th. The tour will begin in Sheboygan, WI at 9:00am and will include the following:

The City Bakery for some Sheboygan hard rolls to go.  https://sheboygancitybakery.com/
Miesfield's for some fresh brats(bring a cooler). https://miesfelds.com/
Old Wisconsin Retail Store http://www.oldwisconsin.com/
Gosses at the Northwestern House for a brat http://www.gossesrestaurant.com/

Next, we're off to Road American in Elkhart Lake. We will be the guests of the Badger Bimmer Club. http://badgerbimmers.org/ When you enter the track at the front gate, you will be required to sign a waiver to enter the track. Let the guards at the front gate know you are guests of Darcy Yench from Badger Bimmer Club. We will meet at the larger open concession stand, where you will have the opportunity to purchase some of the best brats served at any race track in the United States. https://www.roadamerica.com/ You will have the opportunity to walk through the pits to see the cars up close and personal, walk or drive to different parts of the track to observe students and instructors on the track.

Our last stop will be Dino's Pizza and Subs in Plymouth for a very hot, thin crust pizza. You'll need to wait for the pizza to cool off so you don't burn the roof of your mouth. I've been eating at Dino's for 33 years. It's a definite Roadfood stop! https://www.yelp.com/biz/dinos-pizza-and-subs-plymouth

I'll be posting the schedule including addresses, times, and my cell number.

Being from old school, to sign up, just post "count me in."

See you in October.

He's originally a Chicago boy, so Joliet or Cook County Metropolitan.

We'll most likely be there.  Mrs. Roadhouse may still be out of town visiting her Mom, but I'll make the trek north.

Neither!
It was the Sandstone Country Club in Minnesota. Great food, low security, and three golf courses.

If I'm able to make it (the week of Sept. 30 is likely to be absolute h*ll here at work) I may feel compelled to check out The Hamburger Haus in Campbellsport at some point.

Can we get a roll call for this shindig?  I'm getting ready to make a hotel reservation for Friday October 4th, in Sheboygan.  There hasn't been a lot of chatter for this event, and I just want to make sure it's still happening before I make the investment.

I'm hoping to go at least for the Sheboygan segment in the morning, but won't know for sure until the date gets closer.

I can't make it but you need to visit West Side Bakery for Fuzzy's buns. Hamburger buns. My mom puts butter on them and pan fries them. They're the best. You can also fit 2 brats on them.

Well, I managed to convince the Other Half to join in on the morning Sheboygan segment. We have plans back in Milwaukee later in the day, so will have to head back in the early afternoon. Looking forward to seeing you all.

CSD, is the "reservation" primarily to get into the track, with the dining stops being more freestyle?

I am hoping we can be done with Dino's by 6.  I really want to make it to Charcoal Inn.  They close at 7.

Hoping the Roadhouses will want to go as well.

S/C:   There is no reservation time to enter the track. If you want to leave early, no problem.
CB15: There'll be plenty of time to make to the Charcoal Inn.

Saturday's weather outlook shows a 70% chance of rain with highs in the mid 50's. I highly recommend dressing for the cooler weather and bring rain gear (definitely an umbrella).

Dino's opens at 4:00pm and if the weather's bad, we'll leave Road America at 3:45 and be at Dino's by 4:00.

Any chance they can substitute '60's & '70's Pontiacs for the BMW's?

Kudos to the CSDs for putting today's activities together, and I wish I could've stayed past lunch.

Can't say that I do, although the LED "headlights" seem to remind me of something I can't quite put my finger on...

After a day at Road America the Silver State Classic seems like the next logical step.

Is anyone going to post a recap of Buddy's time on the track?  Did anyone else do a ridealong?

The burgers at Gosse's are really good.

According to their menu Gosse's has "genuine Broaster chicken", and I believe that means that not only do they have Broaster equipment but they use one of Broaster's breading mixes as well.

I don't know if the same rules apply to the broasted potato wedges, which were quite good.
