RE: Best burgers in the Triangle North Carolina
My personal favorite during my 18 years in the Raleigh area was Fat Daddy's, primarily because of their buttered burger buns.
As for the Char Grill phenomenom, I attribute that to primarily being the fond memories of Raleigh natives of their childhoods. I always noticed that Raleighites were the most staunch proponents of Char Grill. Despite my repeated efforts over the years, I never could eat the burgers without suffering from severe indigestion, despite my possessing a cast-iron stomach. I usually ended up with a Jr. Burger, and suffered through it in my attempts to relish the 50's era atmosphere. I even own one of their T-shirts, with a cool '57 Chevy on the back. I just can't say their burgers are good. I'll defer to your admiration for them, however, since we're not arguing over something IMPORTANT, like barbecue! ;-)
