It wasn't a restaurant, but they did have hot-and-cold running UT coeds and beverages. Hattie's on West 6th in Austin.

Hattie's was sort of similar to the Chicken Ranch minus the chickens and the ambiance. It was, um, staffed by young ladies who frequently attended classes at a nearby university. Much of the clientele came from nearby Bergstrom Air Force Base. In addition to the standard services associated with such an establishment the beer was cold (usually), and the proprietor was a generous loaner of funds to the financially lacking at a rate slightly lower than was available at other venues. For instance, at Hattie's one could borrow $5 for $8 as opposed to the usual $10 for $5.

Oh, sure. I used to go there to drink beer and borrow money. There was nothing like a Lone Star. And it was just down the block from the only Italian restaurant in town. It also was sort of around the corner from the Manhattan on Congress.

There was rolling brothel in Austin back in the mid-90s. A lady had a van and would show up at your home with a handful of ladies of the evening. You took your pick, made the payment, retired indoors for a bit then the madam would return at a selected time.

Is this where the phrase "I'll have was he's having" originated from?

When I saw the thread title I thought for sure it was some regional restaurant chain.
