CBS Sunday Morning 11/30/14

Bill Geist did a nice piece on Pie Town NM this morning (you listening Cliff?).  They gave the history of the town, showed some great pie and was a tribute to roadfood in general.  You can see it here....

If you're planning to go there, you'll need to wait until next March if you want to go to the Pie Town Café!
It's closed for the Winter. http://www.pietown.com/
The Pie-O-Neer Pies place has limited days they're open. http://www.pieoneer.com/hours.html

This place has been on my hit list ever since spotting it on a map during a New Mexico vacation. Even if the pies aren't that good, I love the novelty of the place. Thanks for thinking of me Kozel!

We will be passing through New Mexico coming and going this February and March. Pie Town will be on our list says my wife after watching that episode.

Odd that it was shown a week after their annual food show the weekend before Thanksgiving. They probably had it scheduled then and it got bumped a week I suspect for something else.

You know the Nation of Islam adherents make a great Navy Bean pie because supposedly sweet potatoes aren't good for you .   It's a sweet pie, tastes just like a pumpkin or sweet potato pie with all the spices and the beans are pureed.

I'm not a fan of either pumpkin or sweet potato pie, so thanks for the warning.
