    Not very worried, frankly. There are still lots of good country hams available and they are priced far better than the Smithfield. The one Smithfield product I do miss is their uncooked Hickory Smoked Hams. That was my favourite for a dinner ham, and I haven't been able to get one in years. The perils of globalism, I guess.

    Tastes do change, but one should not have any opinion about country ham until sampling these:

    With the Midwest producing so much pork I'm kind of surprised there doesn't seem to be any sort of country ham production here.  Or maybe there is and I'm just not aware of it.
