Charlie's Hamburgers Near Philadelphia Faces Uncertain Future

Charlie's Hamburgers of Folsom, PA, which isn't reviewed on this site, but which has come up periodically on threads and is in the Hamburger America book, just posted on their Facebook page that they are still open, but uncertain as to what the future holds.

The explanation given is that they are tenants on the property they occupy and the property is being sold. It looks like they don't know what the incoming owner's intentions are.  They were originally at another location before moving to this one years back. I hope they can stay where they're at, but if not, maybe they can find a third spot to continue the business.

How big is Charlie's current store?  A medium-sized building might be easier to find than a hole in the wall.

I have seen so many places close down over the years due to things like this. Renting always puts the spectre of uncertainty over a business. Ownership of a property comes with its own issues, but eviction is usually not one of them. Here's wishing them the best!

It's a small place. There are no tables, but there are stools around a relatively small counter.

They mentioned that they were putting this out for public consumption because rumors about their future have been floating around and they wanted to set the record straight.

They are not closing. But they have posted on Facebook that they are moving around the corner from their current location. I believe this will be their second move since opening many years ago.

Hey, that's great news.  I have only been there once, but thoroughly enjoyed it.

They mentioned in their post that they are moving their old flat-top grill to the new location. That's good news, as I'm sure it's got a lot of flavor packed into it.
