Code Red: NYC (Tomorrow) ...

I gotta entertain a group of uncertain size (7-12) for a late lunch tomorrow (Friday), somewhere very close to the Waldorf.

I'll be asked to name a place at about 11 am on the day of the lunch.

It can be almost any kind of food (most of us won't be all that hungry) ... it should be a place where we can talk business (either very busy, or not the kind of place where we are elbow-to-elbow with the next table) ... it should be medium-range price (not a deli, not Sparks ... maybe seafood, or an oyster bar.)

=> The very much closer to the Waldorf, the very much better ... maybe a place with little rooms or nooks.

The ideal place would be a neighborhood a whole in the wall with a white tabloe cloth ambiance -- without the white table cloths.

I'm thinking sushi, like Hatsuhanna on 48th between 5th and Madison. Otherwise there are some decent places in the concourse of Rockefeller Center that are good for buisness lunch. Of course the power spots are Michaels and the Four Seasons but we're talking $$$.

Grand Central Oyster bar is only six or so blocks away. Menchanko Tei is a Japanese ethinic thing about a block closer. Always the Bull and Bear at the Waldorf.
