You know, that Screaming Chicken is a pretty smart guy.  (Don't worry, I promise not to say anything nice about him again for a very long time...)

He sent a private message informing me about a Filipino fast food restaurant.  Is it possible for us to squeeze in a Filipino restaurant?  I know someone who would be very happy about this, since no doubt Chicago has much better ones than we have in Pittsburgh.

I assumed you were talking about Jollibee's, buffetbuster.  I'd be good with that place, too.

We may join up with you guys for Ann Sather's.  During the week, the Froeman house has already been awake for 3 1/2 hours by 9am, so 9am will seem luxurious, especially when it's starting with cinnamon rolls.

Cliff, have you tried a Mother-In-Law sandwich yet?  Fat Johnnie's serves a decent version.

Plus, the neighborhood around 71st and Western is wonderful.  Plenty of coffee shops and art museums...

Ask Gregg to take you!

Danny

Nothing in that neighborhood a #fitnessprofessional can't handle.

So if it's cool and partly cloudy, RHR carryout on the Damen Ave. bridge over the Chicago River?

It's understandable, David.  I'm sure you'll have your hands full dealing with people who dare to cross the CSO picket line.

They're Billy Club virtuosos.  Their favorite tune is a gentle lullaby played directly on a union man's skull.

I thought they all played the tambourine. You need a good five or six in every major orchestra.

Often imitated, never duplicated, so misunderstood!  National polling indicates more people play Air Tambourine than Air Guitar!

I may have found a Hot Fudge Sundae alternative that ticks off a lot of boxes.  Village Creamery is a Filipino owned operation serving house made Ice Cream.  Their menu includes many unusual flavors, some of them reflective of the owners' Filipino heritage.  Jackfruit, Lychee, Ube (purple yam), and durian are just some of the "outside-the-box" flavors available.  They also serve Halo-Halo (shaved ice sweetened with Asian fruits, nuts, and beans, the drizzled with evaporated and condensed milk, flan, tapioca, and ice cream).

Also, there's a time advantage in going to Village Creamery because they're on the way from Boba Burger to Bob-O's Hot Dogs.  By not going to 26th Street, we're shaving at least 30 minutes off our travel time, making it easier for Cliff & Mariton to get to Midway on time.

If this is of interest, the new rundown looks like this:

9:00am-Ann Sather's, location TBA

10:30am-Red Hot Ranch
3057 N. Ashland Avenue, Chicago
The weather forecast for Sunday keeps getting worse, so I'm just gonna make the call for the Ashland Ave. location.

Noon-Ruby's Filipino Fast Food
3740 W. Montrose Ave, Chicago

1:30pm Boba Burger
8530 Waukegan Rd, Morton Grove

2:45pm Village Creamery
8000 Waukegan Rd, Niles

4:00pm-Bob-O's Hot Dogs
8258 W. Irving Park Rd, Chicago

5:45pm-Midway Airport

Let me know if this works and we'll lock it in.

Buddy

I was recently at Village Creamery
we enjoyed superb Matcha Ice cream, really great intense green tea flavor!
Burnt sugar and churro ice cream, '
Buko pandan ice cream (bright green with coconut chunks)
and brought home purple yam, which we all throught was like a savory vanilla.

You know how to get here, right?  Draw a straight line from Elkhart to the south side of Chicago, and try not to fall asleep on the way.

Rocky, glad to have you and 13 year old Ian join us.  It'll be nice to have someone with an appetite for a change.
