Contingent chicken dinner at The Hideaway (MKE)

BuddyRoadhouse
Hmm, sounds like a Contingent dinner in the offing.  I'd make the run up for a Hideaway gathering.  Start off with a couple of tavern style Pizzas for appetizers then tuck into a Fried Chicken dinner for mains.

Thursdays and Sundays are AYCE, if that matters.  Anybody care to suggest a day?  I'm unavailable from the 19th through the 26th.

Unfortunately Freddy King won't be able to join us.

AFAIK I have nothing going on and there's a reasonable probability that Mrs. C could come along.

So could we pick a different day?

You want the butter with your mashed potatoes not the gravy IIRC.

Mrs. MFL  and I order 2 French Onion Soups and 1 Country Fried Chicken dinner and have had plenty to eat. The mashed potatoes are real but the gravy is not (according to Buddy). Although it's not an option listed on the menu, my last two visits found no problem subbing butter for gravy. The chickens are grown up and much bigger than their KFC cousins. Sundays are fine with me but I doubt anyone would need that AYCE option. The Gebhardt Family, KC Mob, er, Roadhouse entourage are partial to the steak and garlic pizza while I love their cheeseburgers and wings although unless they're on special (Wednesday @ 50 cents), you must get an $8.50 platter.  They often change menu items and I see quite a few new apps. I am not available on Saturday, the 21st. Otherwise I'm OK for most any day. Mrs. MFL will not go during a Packer game.

This coming Sunday the Packers have a noon game with Detroit but Sunday the 22nd is a 3:25pm game with Minnesota.

Friday the 27th works for me as I have the day off, although others might not.

The 27th is out for the Froeman-Makis and Roadhouses- we do post-Thanksgiving Chinese food with extended family that day.

This Packers game obstacle has me stumped.  If they're playing at noon this Sunday, can't we just meet up sometime after the game is over, say 4:00pm?

I've filled in the Doodle Poll, but why wait?  This Sunday is fine for us.  After the Packer game.

The kitchen opens at 11am as well, if we wanted to eat early to lessen the chances of encountering drunk, potentially bitter Packers fans in the bar and on the road.  Or we could choose Saturday instead of Sunday.

Not to mention it is not like they won't have the game playing at the bar.

No AYCE fried chicken on Saturday.

While I prefer Sunday to Saturday, the AYCE option isn't what's swaying me.  Between apps and Fried Chicken dinners we'll get more than enough to eat.  I'm not saying it's impossible, but not overly likely I would go for a second round of chicken unless we skipped the before dinner stuff.

That said, Sunday (after the Packers game) seems like the more leisurely way to go, but we're available either day.

SUNDAY, SUNDAY, SUNDAY-

Red Raspberry

A natural raspberry flavor with sweet, tart berries

Flavor of the Day

Reese's Peanut Butter Kupps

What do you get when you cross a peanut butter cup with Kopp's Frozen Custard? You guessed it!

Oh and I have no need to watch the Packers.
A during game time meetup would mean I'd be there without the missus.

So far it looks like November 28 and 29 are the best choices for everyone.  Any preferences for one day over the other?

No Packers or Bears that weekend, if that helps.

Chocolate Almond/Red Raspberry or Butterfingers/Banana Cream Pie?

Slight preference for Sunday (Butterfingers/Banana Cream Pie) over Saturday, but ultimately makes no difference.

That Banana Cream Pie frozen custard really sounds like a must-have for BuddyRoadhouse. Kopps has some really good flavors in November.
