Weber used to have a propane lighted charcoal grill. Haven't checked in a while, but I thought it was a kind of "best of both worlds" (unless, of course, you had a kamado grill).

bartl...  It's called the Weber Performer.
 
Small burner under the charcoal area to light the coals.  Had to teach customers that you turn it off after they're lit.
