Pecan Lodge  tentatively Twin Willow , tentatively PLB and Schlotz ?
(hopefully Metroplex Jim can join us here too and we can have the whole gang!)

If the Princess is willing, yes.
She'll be back on the 18th., let you know then.

A taqueria to seriously consider. Personally, I haven't been but, rave reviews from both local blogs and friends.

I would love to but with my itinerary if I did, I would explode

Since this is my first visit to Dallas in 12 years (I wish I can go 3 or 4 x a year like some folk)  I'm concentrating more on Tex Mex vs Authentic Mex

It certainly does,  I wish I had a few extra days in Dallas to go to Taquero and other places that I wanted to hit
I even had to cancel my burger smackdown which sucks because I understand that the Metroplex has some of the finest burgers in the country.

I am leaving tomorrow evening to begin my trip.
I will get in touch with everyone via IM (or facebook) to finalize plans
I will also out of an abundance of caution call the restaurants to see if they are closed for vacation
It seems the trend nowadays is for restaurants to close for vacation during what would be considered their busiest season (Summer)

Yep we were shutout last week at Lexington #1. Barbecue Center was a very good backup.

And they're still closed?????!!!

if any restaurant in Rhode Island closed for 3 weeks straight they would likely stay closed...out of business..
Makes no sense that they close during the height of busy business season when it would actually make sense to close in winter when no one goes.

I'm now gong to call every restaurant I plan on visiting on this trip to make sure they're all open

Safe travels!

We will see you Friday evening...

If you have some time in Shreveport, I can recommend Great Raft Brewing (taproom Wed-Fri 4-9) ...

I like Commotion (Pale Ale) and Reasonably Corrupt (Schwarzbier)...Their DIPA - Grace and Grit - also gets good reviews.

Schlotz,

I'll be in Grapevine enjoying a bowl of red at Tolberts by the time Great Raft opens, however I did enjoy their Commotion Pale Ale at Herby K's yesterday.
