Dallas area -I35e and I635 meeting place

Does anyone have a recommendation for a spot near the I35e and I635 interchange?

I need to meet with my mom to let her take my kids for the end of the summer. My wife recommended Denny's, but I would prefer something a little tastier. We will be coming up I35 and they will be coming down HWY 75.

Thank you.

Try "Campisi's", about 1/2 mile East of 75, exit 8, on Mockingburg Lane. very tasty pizza and good Italian fare overall. This is the place where Jack Ruby ate the night before he shot Oswald.

Or you can get on Beltline (about 2 miles North of I-635) which runs from Carrolton to Richardson. There are MANY good restaurants along Beltline, but my favorites are "Norma's" in Farmer's Branch (3330 Beltline) for diner food and the best carrot cake I've ever had, and the more upscale "Chamberlain's" near the intersection of Midway and Beltline for excellent seafood, and Chamberlain's other restaurant, a top quality steak house, about a mile farther East on Beltline.

If it's going to be a breakfast or lunch meeting, you could do a lot worse than Mecca.

    Mecca Restaurant
    10422 Harry Hines Blvd

it's about 5 miles south of the 635/35 interchange.

If you like fried chicken, Babes Chicken House is at 35 and Beltline, about 5 miles north of the 635/35 interchange

    Hi,

This will be around 2pm on a Saturday. What are Mecca's hours on Sat.? Thanks for the recommendation. I have read about Mecca, but I don't know Dallas well enough to know where things are by address.

I'm pretty sure Mecca closes at 2 on Saturday.

Although, if you're in the mood for a burger and the best cheese fries in the nation, there's a restaurant called Snuffer's near the corner of Midway and Beltline. It's about 2 miles north of 635, and about equidistant from 35 and 75.

    Snuffer's
    14910 Midway Rd

    Addison, TX 75001

Snuffers would be a pretty good place. They have great burgers and fresh cut fries. And a chicken sandwich and a salad or 2. That's all they've ever had and they are very good at what they do. Mecca is great but they close at 2.

And it would be pretty easy for both of you to find. It is north of 635 maybe only a mile, on the right (east) side of the street just before you get to Beltline. For you coming from 35E, go east on 635 (LBJ) to Midway and then make a left (North). Heading south on 75, go west on 635 towards the airport. Exit Midway and turn right (north).

And if you'd then like to do Born in OKC and me a favor when you leave Snuffers, continue North on Midway a couple hundred yards to Beltline and see is Sollys is open. It'll be to the right on Beltline and on the north side of the street. It was one of my favorite places, but closed last summer. I hadn't heard anything about it re-opening, but that would be good news.

    Good Morning,

As always plans changed and we were able to make it to mecca. Wow, the burger was good, the pancakes were good, and the cinammon roll was great. My boys shared a cinammon roll and they were very satisfied (i was even able to snag a bite or two).

Thank you for the great recommendation. Sorry I wasnt able to get to the other places this time. Will probably be back next month.

Paul, don't apologize. I love the Mecca, only I'll be having chicken fried steak with their wonderful giant yeast rolls, and I think Saturday is the only day they have cheese grits.
