Late February to mid-March...Myrtle Beach and south to Savannah for a couple of weeks. Then in early June my annual out West trip...stops are...New Ulm, MN, Belle Fourche, SD, Red Lodge, MT (2 nights), Livingston, MT (2 nights), Jackson, WY, Vernal, UT, Telluride, CO (3 nights), Granby, CO, Chadron, NE, LeMars, IA and home.

Wow!  I want to see that trip report!  Especially LeMars........I love that town.

Pancho, Ed's been up the middle of Oregon; I think he wants to do the E.& W. roads too.  I just know I'll turn 62 this July so I may join him.  :D

We just may have to start making plans!

Both!  And don't forget the Blue Bunny Ice Cream Parlor!  I had one of the best steaks of my life at Archie's.

I don't have too much planned for 2014 as of right now.  What I do have is:  the annual trip for Cousin Johnny and I is mid-February and we will be spending a week driving around Arizona.  And the weekend after the chili crawl in Cincy is Easter, where I will be in Oklahoma and the panhandle of Texas.
SC-
Hopefully, you do get to KC and/or Memphis, two of America's great eating towns!

When you come to AZ, I'd enjoy Breaking Bread with you & Cousin Johnny!
If you're going to be on I-17 between PHX & Flagstaff, you need to make a Pie Stop at Rock Springs!

Also Cactus League Baseball starts in late February!

I was going to contact you shortly to make plans,  Glad you are interested in getting together.  It looks like the best day for us would be on Saturday February 22nd.  Will you be around?

Oh, and Rock Springs Café is on the list.  Ate there a few years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it.

It is very interesting to read this thread and see what folks are planning for the year.  For me it looks like some of the usual plus a few new places for business trips:
  • A few trips to Chicago - actually Northwest Indiana
  • A few trips to the Dulles area of Northern Virginia
  • St Augustine, FL in March
  • One or two trips to Kentucky: one to north of Louisville (Carrollton) and one possibly to Princeton - not sure of the dates
  • Maybe a trip or two to the Houston area
  • Hartford, CT for the first time in a few years - time to get back to Pepe's in Manchester, CT and to stock up on Foxon Park beverages
  • Denver - actually Golden - for  a week in July
  • Possibly Kingman, AZ sometime this spring
  • And any other trips that come up, and I hope they are to good RF places

Off before the end of the month to CA's Eastern High Sierras.
Although this man wasn't looking for a black bird when he was there.....

Then up to Mammoth Mountain.....

Past Mon Lake, into Carson City, the capital of Nevada....

And finally into Reno......

Where I may ask this man where I can get a hot dog with some ketchup....

Then I'll have some good meals and drive all the way back home.

So, where's Ida Lupino?

As of now I have nothing tentative outside of my annual trips to NE Wisconsin (January), Des Moines (April),
And now the plans for both are pretty much finalized, which means I'll be revisiting them endlessly until I actually go.

We're going to drive back to Texas.  I'd love to take i40 but it depends on the time and weather.

Not enough places for New Mexican food on I10 although I would stop for a Sonoran in Tucson making I10 not a horrible choice.

Bought a new car that should be delivered in February and I want to check out the distance it can go between fill-ups.

Supposedly I can drive from Los Angeles to Tucson before filling up.

Bought a diesel station wagon.

I'm officially old and conservative.

Oh...  if all goes well, we'll drive to Tennessee some way and a different way back.

Maybe even drive up to Boston to visit with my niece.

Okay... I can dream.
