Glad to see Woeber's on the list, they make my favorite jalapeno mustard.

    Yeah, well.

There are so, so many different choices. Whenever someone brings up mustard ratings, I think of something that happened back in the early '70s... funny, the persistence of memory. Anyhow, I was maybe 17 or so. I'd been at my cousin Larry's house, we were playing poker all night. Earlier in the week I'd read an article in Esquire magazine, with mustard ratings. And one of my favorites, Mister Mustard, was in there, and it wasn't rated very well. To this day, I remember the single sentence that passed judgement: "Hot stuff from Cincinnati with little flavor." And I had thought: wait a second. Who's right here? And I went to the fridge, and I tasted it. And I decided that I was right; it was really good. I liked it.
So back to my cousin Larry's house. It's after midnight, and we're tuned in to the late movie, and it's time to make a snack, and we grill up some hot dogs, and I reach into his fridge for the Mister Mustard, and Larry says, "Ugh. You eat that? It's all hot, without any flavor." And I said, "Yeah, I read that article, too. But I tasted it myself, and I decided that I was right, it's really good. He's wrong."

My round about point is, sometimes you just remember things. Like, trust your taste buds.

And, furthermore: if you google "Mister Mustard", about halfway down the first page of results is an Esquire review from 2007 saying, and I quote: "I met the true love of mi vida loca con condimentos: sweet hot mister mustard."

    Dearfolk,
My favorite mustards are Woeber's Hot & Spicy from Springfield, Ohio and Zatarain's Creole from New Orleans. One friend of mine buys her local favorite Boetje's from Rock Island, Illinois by the case when she goes where it is sold, and I've heard that there are two good local mustards both in Buffalo and in Detroit.
       Anyone else want to comment?

I really like to try out different mustards.  Boetje's Stone Ground Mustard is one of my favorites.  I love hot mustards and honey mustards, too.  Going back to childhood, I would have to say that Guldens will always be my favorite.

    Dearfolk,
Both Gulden's and Plochmann's are fine products. I've also tried several of Koch's mustards from Wisconsin. But I still say Woeber's Hot & Spicy is a delight.
Greymo, I've got more time now, so I'm apt to be reporting with a vengeance. Stay tuned.
          Wholeheartedly, Ort.

Love my Zatarain's Creole mustard, it's accessible - all the stores carry it, but wouldn't mind trying other brands of yellow mustard mentioned here.

Starfire62, that was one I was thinking of. I think they have a smaller, long-established competitor up thataway somewhere, but I can't remember the name.

We have over a dozen different mustards in the refrigerator.  Of course it depends on what you're eating but one of our favorites is the stone-ground Pommery Moutarde de Meaux.

I like the Inglehoffer cranberry mustard.  Great on turkey.
