I actually unknowingly had a chance to try some a while ago, since it's eaten in some parts of my country. To be completely honest, once they'd told me what it was, I had two more bites. It didn't taste bad at all. Mind you, I was about ten then so I guess I didn't squick easily. I'm not sure if I could eat that sort of meat now especially since my best bud is my puppy.
That said, I guess it's because most of us aren't used to eating more "exotic" meats. But like what a previous poster said -- what if our ancestors had decided that pigs were the better pets and say, cats were more suited for meat? I couldn't judge others for eating what they eat (except, if they munched on people), especially if they were eating what was abundant in their place.
