RE: Dutch Pancakes
The best pannekoken (not sure if I'm spelling it right) I've had in Amsterdam...the teeny ones are fried in these special pans that have little round depressions so that they are perfect each time. Simply dusted with powdered sugar and melted butter...yum!
When I lived there, the Dutch never (to my knowledge) ate them at breakfast time.
Breakfast, to them, was usually a slice of toast spinkled with these colored licorice sprinkles and coffee.
