El Real (Houston) closes - old school Tex-Mex classic

Robb Walsh consulted tribute to the cuisine.

I loved it.  Best Tex-Mex I'd ever eaten, by far.  Critics generally loved it, the general public --- Walsh and Caswell had lots of non-fans, younger people didn't understand that old school Tex-Mex really wasn't all that spicy.  I stuck to the classic dishes, which is what Tex-Mex is to me.  The newer additions to the cuisine - second generation Tex-Mex? - either didn't interest me as much or were widely available elsewhere.

Many people have no idea what Tex-Mex is these days.  They'll include anything Mexican that they like, so long as it's served in a restaurant in Texas
