I personallly would go with the tamales and potato pancakes.

The only problem is in Knoxville, TN, there is not a good choice of tamales. The best I ever got was in El Paso.

We can make latkes though and they are very good.

Mrs. Chips and I are fortunate; one of her former students' mom is a tamale lady and we are able to get fresh tamales about once a month. This years's Xmas tamales were excellent.

Again this year our dear neighbor took our order for four dozen tamales and they are wonderful. Daughter-in-law took two dozen and we have the other two all snug in our freezer for enjoyment for some time to come. They are delicious and our neighbor is delightful. We feel so fortunate.
