Has the festival ever considered having a fried chicken contest instead of serving up 1 variety only?

Maybe that would spark an interest in making better chicken. Great report, though. Thanks!

That's a great idea. They should run with it.

I live a couple of hours from there and my eyes perked up when I saw this thread, but it wasn't exactly an uplifting report.

And I mean that strictly on the food description and not the politics. It's not exactly a secret that people in rural areas lean right.

Would scratch this Festival and its people off my to-do list. Chicken looked anemic....and some of those folks......,

London used to house the best fried chicken joint in the state: Burger Boy, but they closed after a 50 year run. And yes, the food at the festival was not good. But I'm spoiled by living in New Orleans where festival eats are some of the finest in the state, as good as any of the better restaurants.
