Food truck walls

Hey all. New here. I am building a food trailer. For the walls I have FRP and stainless steel for behind the range. The trailer is a cargo trailer with a drop down ramp. My plan is to have it as a patio for the warmer months but still be a wall when closed.

My question: Can I use diamond plate? Or, does it have to be a smooth surface since it will also be a wall?

Great Question. First have you talked to you local Health Authority. They are the ones to make that final call. But Ideally you would want to go with either a Vinyl Floor or you could go for a rhino-lining style textured surface for nonskid. Second, I wouldn't go for diamond plated metal if you plan to use it as a porch during the summer months as the metal gets hot in direct sunlight and that would be asking for a lawsuit. Also to help allay any potential concerns from the Health Authority I would look into retractable bug screening for the times when its up or down. That should stay any concerns the surface would be use for food service. Not that they should...ever.
