X1 and I ordered just a regular cheeseburger ( tomato, onion and lettuce on the side...) and with the addition of the peppers, it was awesome.

Starting to get slightly close to that time of year again, so I thought I'd revive this thread and give folks plenty of time to check their calendars.  The usual story for us: Friday night at Milwaukee's Irish Fest followed by Fred's on Saturday with a possible return to the Fest if the talent level is up to par (early research into the artists performing in the TradFest Dublin Showcase is very positive).  If not, we're looking for ways to amuse ourselves in and around Beer Town for the rest of the day.

Thoughts?

How about a calendar date for Irish Fest? March 17?

Oops, sorry.  Irish Fest dates are Friday & Saturday, 7/18 & 19.  We're talking about Fred's for the afternoon of the 19th, usual time 2pm.

For the calendar-impaired, July 18 and 19 are Tuesday and Wednesday.

I'm in if I have the time.  It all depends on whether or not I'm in St. Louis that week.

Gaarggh, what a dope!  I did in fact mean August, as in 8/18 & 19.  Sorry for the confusion.

Reckon we'll need to call a few days in advance to make sure they're open for business.  The bottom photo, which appears to be in or near downtown, looks pretty dry.  We've got more than a month to go.  Let's see what happens.

Fred's is currently closed but no reason is given, so it could be something as minor as closed roads or as major as actual water damage.

I am not sure we have to worry about flooding as we are looking at August. And they are closed now due to flooding=per their website.

Adrian's Frozen Custard is closed as well.  IIRC it's at a lower elevation than Fred's.

I looked at Fred's Facebook page, and they say they reopened on the 17th. Not sure about Adrian's, though.

The Other Quijote and I will be on a trip in the Dakotas starting mid-August, so we'll have to miss this outing. We're looking forward to some Great Plains grub such as bison burgers, Indian tacos, and knoephla, though!

In the fish fry/supper club thread I posted to see if anyone wanted to get together this coming weekend, forgetting that Fred's is already on the calendar.  I remembered it while mowing the lawn and Buddy confirmed it, so I'm planning on being there.  And Adrian's is open as well.  Knowing that Fred's can get pretty busy over the noon hour, do we want to eat early (11ish) or later (after 2)?

Just FYI, I'm over Adrian's. Just don't think they're good at all. OTOH, Sundae of the Month at Kopp's is French Silk Pie.

That actually works pretty good.  After burgers I can get on highway 11 and head east for prime rib or west for pizza.

We'll definitely be at Irish Fest both Friday and Saturday.  They're featuring a slate of traditional musicians from Dublin this year.  We listened to all of them on the fest's website and were fairly impressed.

We'll try to get there right around opening on Friday, and however long it takes us to get there after we wrap up at Fred's on Saturday.

We're going early on Friday, for sure, especially since it's cheaper to get in and probably Saturday, too.

Time to start taking a roll call.  So far I've got X1, ScreamingChicken, ann peeples, and maybe chicagostyledog on the guest list.  Including us, we'll need a table for seven.  Anyone else gonna make the trip to Burlington this year?  MFL?  Pie Diva?  Gyp?  Flatlanders in general?
