11am at Fred's is doable.  After that we'll put our lives in the hands of the Cheeseheads.  Annie's, Wedl's, LeDuc's...whatever works for the majority, we'll play along.

I have an appointment until 1:00-ish, and Wedl's is my priority that day.  The soonest I'll be there is about 3:30-ish, since we have to pick up Carolyn near Antioch.  If that doesn't fit into the rest of the plans and you do Wedl's earlier, we'll meet up with you guys wherever you are after we stop for our burgers, or if you do Wedl's later, we'll meet you wherever it makes sense at the time and go to Wedl's together.

Are you morally opposed to making 2 visits to Wedl's?

I'll be at Fred's, but I'm leaving right after. Have a concert by a local musician at the Landing to attend.

OK, we're a week out and other than Fred's for almost everybody and Wedl's for Abe we really haven't decided anything, so I'll throw this out there:

Meet at Fred's at 11am sharp for burgers.  Those going only to Fred's can gorge themselves but others may want to take it easy.  After an hour to 90 minutes at Fred's it's a 45-minute drive to Whitewater and Casual Joe's for some sharing of barbecue, and from there it's another 25-30 minutes to Wedl's.  If there's enough time to kill, Poyer's Farm Market in Fort Atkinson (between Whitewater and Jefferson) would be a place to stop and do a little browsing.  Sadly, Ken & Betty's (also in Fort) closed last year so the chance to get an authentic Philly cheesesteak is gone.

I know that some frozen custard has been proposed as the final stop, but in the spirit of the 2013 Jefferson County tour what about ending the day with a supper club dinner?  The Edgewater is just a few minutes south of Jefferson on County Road K, and south of Whitewater is The Duck Inn in Richmond.  Of course, ending with a full-size dinner is definitely an added expense in terms of both time and money but I figured I'd mention it as an alternative, and if we skip them this time they're always possible as future standalone dinners.

Incidentally, on Wedl's final Saturday last year Mrs. C and I stopped there to share a burger (double with cheese and bacon) as an appetizer before continuing on to dinner at The Edgewater.

A stop at Annie's in Elkhorn for their house-made root beer is recommended.

Might as well get a headcount for this shindig, just so the first person to arrive at Fred's will know how big a table to grab.

So far Fred's is looking like 5 for sure: BuddyRoadhouses (2), ChiBears15, X1 and myself.

Super Tacos Moy is just a couple of blocks from Fred's and I've always wondered if it'd be worth a stop sometime.  How does the menu look to those of you more familiar than I with Mexican food?

Drive 30 minutes west to Elkhorn and Moy's is a Chinese restaurant.

Might be worth stopping in for a taco or two.  OTOH, there's a fairly full day planned, including two early CheeseBurger stops; Fred's and Wedl's.  That extra Mexican morsel could be our downfall later in the day.

Speaking of "The Plan", would someone who has a better idea of what it is please post details.  A lot of suggestions were made and I've lost track.  A list with names and addresses would be helpful.

I'll start:
Fred's Parkview Bar
596 N Pine St.
Burlington, WI 53105
(262) 763-8370

What's next?

A plan was never really agreed upon but here's a compilation of previous suggestions.

Annie's Burgertown (645 N. Lincoln St., Elkhorn, root beer).
Casual Joe's (319 W. James St., Whitewater, barbecue).
Poyer's Farm Market (323 N. 4th St., Ft. Atkinson, optional non-food stop).
Wedl's (200 E. Racine St., Jefferson, no need to mention a subject).
LeDuc's (240 W. Summit Ave., Wales, frozen custard).

Brad has never been wrong about the quality of food at a place, but at this point I don't think we need any tacos on this trip considering the stops we already have planned.

The list above looks great. Can someone put it in geographical order? If not, I can do so tonight when I get home from work. I like the idea of walking around the farm a bit to rebuild appetite. See you all tomorrow.

Gyp can't make it.
Also, FYI, my parents both rolled their eyes at the mention of Fred's, and again insisted that John's Main Event is the better of the 2 burger joints on the block. 🤪🤣

The list is in order of planned stops and works west to Elkhorn, northwest to Whitewater, north to Ft. Atkinson and Jefferson, and east to Wales.

Poyer's is an in-town market and not an actual farm, though.  And Busy Barns Adventure Farm hasn't opened for the fall season.

IIRC, we gave John's Main Event a fair shot a couple of years ago and found it to be "okay".  Am I mistaken?

Looks like we'll need a table for seven at Fred's:

Roadhouses - 2
ChiBears15 - 1
ScreamingChicken - 1
X1 - 1
irisarbor - 2

abe_froeman & Mr. Maki (and others, hopefully) will join us along the way.

I'm going to call X1 early if I can make it so we can go together. I too could only stop at Fred's as I have a toilet being installed around 2 so if he comes early I won't make it. I don't agree with her parents, but truth to tell I much favor the Nite Owl over Fred's.

We're off to Crave Cafe' for burgers tomorrow before going to Irishfest. I favor Crave Cafe' over Night Owl and Fred's, plus it's closer to me in Milwaukee. We'll be at Crave at 3:00 Saturday.

If you have a plumber who'll show up early I suggest you sign him to a lifetime contract and put him in your will.
