Gayle's Bakery: Favorite Breakfast: Egg-Stuffed Croissant w/Bacon

Woohoo! Root-Beer Man posted the full link to my PDF in the latest message in this thread.

When I lived in Santa Cruz, California (man), one of my favorite places to buy food and eat was Gayle's Bakery & Rosticceria (sic) in Capitola, CA. My favorite breakfast was (still is?) their scrambled egg-stuffed croissants, which can be "plain" or with Ham or Bacon. (Knowing Gayle's it was probably the smoked "no nitrate" flesh of the gods from Corralitos Market & Sausage Co.)

I keep asking Roadfood to stop by there, it is a fantastic place. Just one more example, their chocolate mousse cake is "solid" chocolate mousse! Anyhow, once in a while I just can't take it anymore (having moved to Ohio), and I just have to make those egg-stuffed croissants for myself. And last week-end I took a bunch of pictures (okay, sure, mostly for my Mom) and decided the best way to "document" the process was make a PDF with the pictures embedded.

I hope you like it. Hey Roadfood, you need to schedule someone to stop at Gayle's someday! Chances are the weather will be beautiful!

Sorry folks,

I was trying to post a link to my recipe for egg-stuffed croissants with bacon, but the link would disappear when I posted.

It showed and worked fine in the post preview, but when I would post "for real", it would disappear.

I tried a few different ways, but no luck.

So I tried to delete the whole post but I could not find a way.

That's OK. The reason your link doesn't show is that you have too few posts to be able to post links. The forum is set up that way to avoid spammers (and boy have we had issues with them in the past!). One way to get around this would be to post the link (if it's not spam) and leave off the http. Just post the www part. Then, if people want to go look at it they can cut and paste it. Welcome to the forum!

Also the 'Roadfood News Forum' probably isn't the best place to post a recipe (it would be better in the 'Recipes & Cooking Techniques' or for your specific recipe in the 'Breakfast' forums).  Sometimes posting in the wrong forum can be a contentious issue here...

Okay, let's try and give you a link you can copy and paste...

So below is the link to my PDF recipe for Egg-Stuffed Croissants with Bacon, but you will have to put "http" back in front!

Click on the "+" magnifying glass icon when you get into the PDF, and it will go full width, for bigger pictures!

s://drive.google.com/open?id=1DhTlUpny5JKJJ-_23lwh3Q1iZVWLxd20   (copy-paste into new tab, put http in front, go)

I hope that works!

Since it's a .pdf, you might just copy and paste it in a post. That would be easier, and would likely get more commentary from posters.

Bummer, I read your good suggestion too late.

Perhaps to help fit this thread: News! My recipe comes from trying to duplicate the wonderful egg-stuffed croissants I used to eat at Gayle's Bakery & Rosticceria (sic) in Capitola, CA. I keep asking Roadfood to stop by there, it is a fantastic place. Their chocolate mousse cake is "solid" chocolate mousse!

I tried a few ways, but none do much. If I open it in a Reader I can copy and paste unformatted text but all the pictures are lost. Every other way I tried just pastes the name of the file.

Thomas,

1)  Welcome to Roadfood
Sorry for the rough beginning, but you did confess that you are from the Queen City.

2)  There is absolutely nothing wrong with Cincinnati or its denizens, but I must ask ...

Do you believe that the continuing prat-fall hilarious incompetence of the local NFL franchise results from:
      a)  Mike Brown's greed, frugality, cupidity, and stupidity, or
      b)  a pact the Rooney family and Bob Kraft made long ago with The Prince of Darkness (Pete Rozelle and          his successors)?
