Gone But Not Forgotten-Petersons Sunset Cabin

anyone else remember Petersons Sunset Cabin in Lakewood NJ- I ran across a couple of websites that mention it & some even have pictures. We went to Petersons often during the 60s and early 70's. Not exactly Roadfoody , it was the kind of place you dressed up to go to even if you were at the shore. My favorite dish was the Lobster Newberg, it was served in these nifty little silver serving trays - wonder if any of those are rusting inside somewhere? I remember going out and walking around the lake while my parents and grandparents had coffee and desert... Petersons will always be one of my favorite places, . so sad its gone!"

Wow...I remember Peterson's well, Many a holiday meal was had there by my family. Loved the food...and yes, that was a time when you dressed up. I remember the salad was a quarter of a lettuce wedge. Back in the day, early 60's, this area was a vast wasteland for restaurants and Peterson's was the go to destination for a great meal, especially for us at holiday times. It became an Easter destination. Miss it and the fanily times that were had there.

At the bottom of the post is a comment that Peterson's may have been torn down some time back, but nothing obvious turned up in any online searches so I wonder if the building's actually still standing.  Lee, you should take a drive out that way!

EDIT: I dug a little deeper and found that Peterson's was at 105 River Ave., and First Commerce Bank has been at that address since 2011.  I wonder if the bank has any photos of the restaurant being demolished as part of the construction project.
