Happy National Pi(e) Day 2019

After six-plus hours on the picket line (I did take a couple of short breaks because our shifts are supposed to be four hours) I celebrated National Pi(e) Day on my way home. Anyone want to guess as to where? (Hoosier Mama)

I only had two slices. The first was Apple Sour Cherry.

Followed by Coconut Cream.

I got a cup of whipped cream on the side.

It went really well with the apple sour cherry.

Fantastic as always.

It's quite a lifestyle you've chosen for retirement.  Some choose Costco for secondary employment, some choose bicycle bartending, some get married in far off places, others hang with Flo, but you are a true pioneer.  Exercise and Pie...the perpetual chicken + egg fable as one feeds the other!  My hat is off to you sir!  And for the record, I always keep my fork....even after the 1st piece because experience has shown me there is often more pie around the corner.

With you and Cliff as my major mentors, how can I go wrong in any path I choose.

Paula has had a couple of pies at the Chicago store over the past month or so that I wish would come to Evanston. Today there is a sour cream Dutch cherry, as well as a peanut butter crunch.

David-
If there was one person we could count on to celebrate the holiday appropriately, we knew it would be you!  I saw a photo of the peanut butter crunch on IG and it looks fantastic!

Is walking the picket line now considered exercise? I defer to a #FitnessProfessional for the answer.

Have you retired David? I thought you'd never give up the CSO gig.

No, I haven't retired. If I had I wouldn't be picketing quite so much. I also wouldn't have spent 9 1/2 hours today negotiating. I think about it all the time, but I can't bring myself to do it yet.

Good call David. Keep living your passion.

Since I'm turning 70 in July I'm not sure how long I'll be able to keep going. I'm okay for a couple of seasons maybe.

Oh how I wish that how that peanut butter crunch would make it to Evanston. I forgot to ask her about it yesterday.
