Re: Headed to Dallas
I drive by (the original) Sonny Bryan's BBQ almost daily. However, nowadays I'm never tempted to stop and eat there.
But at one time "in a Galaxy a long time ago", I would have lunch at SB almost daily.
The ribs and brisket were terribly dry (by today's standards). The best thing to eat there was their great, chopped beef on a bun loaded with their incomparable BBQ sauce. Another must have was a side of their fried onion rings. I loved their fantastic, tasty BBQ sauce which was made with the brisket's fat drippings. Just be sure you had the Tums handy a few hours later.
I can still see the late, great Sonny B. standing behind the counter chopping the briskets for sandwiches.
