Thanks for your confidence. I'll initially name a few places but I would like to hear from some of the others attending as to what they think or, do they have a suggestion or two as well.

Terrific BBQhttps://www.yelp.com/biz/pecan-lodge-dallas-3 (Arguably) the best in Dallas.
The best pizza this side of New Haven: https://www.yelp.com/biz/cane-rosso-dallas
Cane Rosso Saturday hours: 11:00am-3:00pm - 5:00pm-11:00pm.

Got to get to work but, more to follow later today.

Further to my above post, in addition to my pizza and BBQ suggestions, please advise if any interest for Tex-Mex or (great) Chinese.

Twinwillow-
As for where to eat, as long as we don't have to get dressed up or face a daunting line, I am open to any and all suggestions.  Tex-Mex, BBQ, Chinese, Pizza, it all sounds good to me!

Sorry to read your better half won't be able to join us, but looking forward to seeing you again.

I'd love to unfortunately I'm not scheduled to visit Dallas until next July or August   (depending on when Chibears15 and I go to the braves game in Atlanta I'll be in Dallas either July 19-22 or August 9-12) Hoping I can meet up with the same good folk (and that includes buffetbuster if he is willing to head out for another visit)

buffetbuster- Not to worry. I wouldn't want to subject anyone (including myself) to getting dressed up or waiting on line.

I would highly recommend Cane-Rosso as listed in my above comment. Bear in mind their open hours for Saturday.

How about a Tex-Mex BBQ Chinese pizza?  There's probably one on Pizza Hut's menu...

If my local Pizza Hut would have had that on the menu, maybe they wouldn't have gone out of business!

They went out of business because they didn't have chopsticks to use for the pizza.

Now that I am back from the Southern California trip, time to make plans for Dallas this Saturday.  Having Twinwillow pick something out for us certainly works for me.  How about somewhere around 4-5pm?  Maybe we should get a hold of plb and his wife Jane and see if they can join us.

Mariton and I are in.  Who else is joining us?

Hoping we'll see a Trip Report on the Cheech and Chong California trip....looks like there are great photos...and some food in between!

Cane Rosso's original location in Deep Ellum is excellent.  Their location near me in Fairview disappoints - as do any of (my favorite) Olivella's "branch" locations.

For 'atmosphere' and good food I love Campisi's Egyptian Lounge - it reeks of Dallas.

So is First Chinese BBQ in Plano (cash only) - and one of Twinwillow's 'faves'.

Yao Fuzi in Plano is Dallas' version of the Peking Gourmet in Falls Church, VA.

I'm very fond of Rick's Chop House in McKinney.

Even though we've already "done" Luscher's, Smoke, Pecan Lodge, Babe's Chicken, and Slow Bone  ... a re-visit at any would be fine by me. (But not that BBQ place in Grapevine where you met W.).

In any case, whenever, wherever "count me in".

Thanks, Jim. I'm seriously recommending we go to Cane-Rosso on Commerce Street in Deep Ellum. It's centrally located very close to downtown only a few blocks from Luscher's where we all ate last time.

They have really great Neapolitan style pizza, a great bar and, pasta dishes the equal of almost anywhere. And the atmosphere would be quite convivial for our group.

Check out all the pictures on the Yelp listing from my post above. Also, please note their Saturday open times.

If we can get a final count and time, I'll call ahead and reserve a table for our group.

Btw, the Deep Ellum location in Dallas is their original and best location.

Sounds like a great choice Twinwillow. By my count, we have seven. Michael, Jim, Boyd, Phil, Jane, Mariton and Cliff. If you can reserve a table, that would be ideal.

Later, but soon, I'd like to meet you at First Chinese BBQ; the Princess will not go to any far-Eastern restaurant, but I do love such, on occasion.

buffetbuster - just a thought. Wouldn't 5:00 be a bit too soon after lunch? Assuming of course we all eat lunch.

Maybe we should take a consensus for 5:00 pm?

Personally, I'd think 1:30-2:00 would be better and we'd make it a lunch group.

Comment's, please.

Jim, I'd love to meet you (and anyone else) for a meal at First Chinese BBQ.
Their roast duck is the best in Dallas! We'll discuss it further this Saturday.
