Thanks! I'm really looking forward to eating my favorite, "Regina Margherita" pizza with added hot Soppressata.

We have a very enjoyable dinner at Cane Russo on Saturday night.  The pizzas were impressive, especially that honey bastard, but the appetizers might have been even better.  Mariton is still talking about that artichoke dish.  The only disappointment on the night was that Twinwillow wasn't able to join us and he was sorely missed.  Thanks so much to schlotz, MetroplexJim, plb and his lovely wife Jane for coming out.

Parking in Deep Ellum is not particularly easy as the street parking is now pay with app only.  I became so desperate that I went ahead and downloaded the app.  In fact, we used it again on Sunday when we did the Pecan Lodge/Emporium Pies doubleheader.

Oh, I should mention that Mariton got a haircut on Saturday afternoon in a Japanese salon and was so happy with it, she informed me that we have to go back to Dallas for future haircuts.  So, it looks like many more trips to Dallas are in the cards.

We all look forward to that; indeed, a great time was had by all!

And, I trust that next time we meet:

1) My mind and body won't feel that it is between midnight and 2AM (the 11 hour flight back to DFWwas entirely in daylight and I couldn't sleep a lick).
2) I'll have my wallet; the Paris police recovered it and W. retrieved it this morning, minus only the cash.
3) W. will accompany me; she'll be back 11/27; she sent her regards on FaceTime Sunday morning.
4) And Twinwillow will be there!

The honey bastard was delicious for the next day's lunch.  Ten minutes on a 300 degree pizza stone and it was good as it was served us!  Again, thanks.

Glad all enjoyed Cane-Rosso. I'm really terribly sorry I had to miss it. Friday, I took a bad fall and compressed a few disks in my lower back. So I'm home bound now for a while.

My doctor ordered a CT scan for Wednesday to be sure surgery will not be required. But, I am in much pain.

The main thing you missed was our merry group: plb, Jane, schlotz, BB, Mariton, and yours truly.  There was a true banquet of convivial conversation that continued onto Commerce St. after we left.

BB & Mariton took the food shots, but I do not recall a group shot being taken.

Mariton and I are dusting off our ten gallon hats for a return trip to Dallas, next weekend, March 10-12.  If you Texans aren't tired of us Yankee invaders, we would love to get the band back together again.

Unfortunately, Saturday is out for us.  What does everyone think of Sunday for lunch?  I was thinking of a return trip to Slow Bone.  Even though the inside seating isn't conducive for groups, if we got there when they opened, it shouldn't be a problem.

As always, though, we are open to other ideas.

I'm afraid I'll be working Sunday until about 1:00 pm. However, with reference to seating at Slow Bone, There is plenty of tables to support a large group in the dining room.
Call Jeffery Hobbs (Pittmaster/part owner) for assistance.

An alternate suggestion would be Pecan Lodge on Main Street in Deep Ellum.
Excellent BBQ!
Usually a line at their 11:00am opening but, it moves quickly.

I'd rather wait until later so you will be able to join us.  How does your schedule look for after you are done working on Sunday?  I'd hate to miss seeing you two trips in a row.

Pecan Lodge has fantastic fried chicken as well. But, parking is a bitch!
Personally speaking, I'm always good for Slow Bone but, if anyone has any other suggestions...............

Found this pic of Slow Bone's "dining room". Plenty of room available.
If I can get a head count, I'll call ahead to set up a larger table if need be.

As for suggestions, unless y'all want something other than BBQ, Slow Bone is just about the best in Dallas.

So we still haven't heard from schlotz or plb and his wife Jane.  Hopefully they will see this post.  It probably wouldn't be a bad idea if I send them a pm also.
