Hellmann's Real... Ketchup ?!?

I was at my local Meijer today and saw the new Hellmann's Real Ketchup and was wondering if anybody has had a chance to try it.  The ingredients are pretty simple (tomato puree, honey, white wine vinegar, salt, onion powder and spices) which is a good thing.  We've used Heinz as long as I can remember and wanted to see how the Hellman's compares to it.

I almost bought a bottle the last time I needed ketchup, (I had a coupon) but took a pass because of the honey as sweetener. I just wasn't sure that would go over with my resident ketchup eaters. I stuck with my usual Simply Heinz.

Why not?  After all, Heinz has entered the mayo business:

EDIT:  Oh, and they call it REAL mayonnaise.
Made with 'cage free' eggs, no less.
    Coincidence?  I think not.
My only question is "who fired the first shot here?".

I don't have a problem with any of them expanding their product lines (for example, I really like the Heinz Carolina Mustard Style BBQ Sauce) but one always has to wonder how a new product stands up to the long-time 'gold standard' for that product.

We got one free with a coupon...not bad. Darker thank Heinz, but will not replace Heinz. Good for recipes and marinades that call for ketchup....because it was FREE.

Blue Plate wins!  So rich, so wonderful!

I grew up on Del Monte but use Heinz now. Bet it was a nickle less than the Heinz.  That's the way Mom shopped.

We were a Del Monte family, too, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was an economic decision.  Nowadays I don't adhere to any one brand, but instead prefer to buy based on the ingredients.  No HFCS, please.

Growing up we always used Heinz for ketchup, but I do remember my dad getting Brooks Ketchup on occasion.

As for mayonnaise, it was always Hellmann's until recently when first Kroger and now Meijer started carrying Duke's which is what we use now (unless I'm making my Chuy's Creamy Jalapeno Dip).

We always had Heinz ketchup at home (still do), but my parents didn't do mayonnaise; had to be Miracle Whip. When I discovered mayonnaise my world opened up, but I preferred Kraft over Hellmann's...there's something about Hellmann's I don't like and I can't decide if it's texture or flavour. Same with Duke's, which I was very excited to find one day and discovered I don't like it. Now I use Kraft mayonnaise with olive oil. Can't imagine I'll be trying Hellmann's ketchup, although I suppose anything's possible.

Although I switched from Hellmann's mayo to Blue Plate a few years ago, I'm anxious to try Duke's now that my Kroger is stocking a new, smaller size.

I just found some Duke's a little while ago at a Meir store. lleechef and I tasted it and found it quite creamy, with an interestingly pleasant taste.

I've found that the mayonnaise that Wendy's uses tastes a lot like Duke's.
