Following along on your build and can relate to things that come up with a truck unrelated to the food part.

I posted a pic of my rig with just a couple of posts logged...try using Photo Bucket or other pic hosting site.

Paint day, and. this was way less than a wrap and will last longer. We rented a local body shop paint booth for two days over a weekend, and had their airbrush artist do the work. It may not appeal to everyone, but its really cool and had a military tribute. We are a military family, with kids serving active duty.

LOVE that!!

My bro said I can use his garage to paint mine. ....  IF it fits.....   gonna be close
Going to TRY to make it out there this weekend for a test fit.
But the wife has me booked for the next 5 days....so no chance of paint.
( it's only getting plasti-dip )
The rest will be done with vinyl graphics.
it's pretty cheap online.

Gotta try to get the base paint on before it snows.

Built and test fitted rear platform for gen & bottle. Also had to locate and install plug in. I have to modify exhaust to exit under the platform and point street side with a small car muffler. Then build a "hush house"/weather cover. It seems to never end on the list of things needing built, installed or finished......Curt

I am planning the same kind of thing for my genny.
Was even looking at the same genny... they now have a 11500 kw unit.

Are you trying to build a REALLY quiet box??  or just a cover??
I want a REALLY quiet one.
Make sure you document and report back how well it works.

I "plan" to use a car muffler as well.
Plus hook to a veturi like this   http://www.doityourselfrv.com/how-to-make-homemade-rv-gen-turi/
Not much work.
And a little better than just pointing streetside.

I picked up one of these when I was in the USA a couple of weeks ago.

SO cheap!!!
HERE they are almost $400.

Thinking it may end up as the exhaust fan on the genny box.

I like the cooling fan idea. I kept the floor open (expanded metal) to drain water and vent the genny. I plan
an alum sheet metal box with double bubble foil face insulation. I found louverd alum panal's to go on either end
of the box. The front panal will open to access the controls and plugs. I will try to do sound bites to demo how quiet
the thing ends up. (Box says 74 db).....

In my research, I remember reading somewhere that plywood is actually a GOOD thing to use because it helps to absorb the sound much better than JUST metal.
And double layered with air gap in between.
Baffled at each end.
Sound waves travel in straight lines, and are lessened when bouncing around corners.
I would still sheet if over with the aluminum.

Lots of designs online.

Over the last few weeks was able to get a few things done.... now have heat in the cab, and blower (three speeds!), front dash area wrapped up. Was finally able to cut and fit all the stainless for the walls. I have order some corner and trim pieces I don't want to manufacture.... Then on to water tank time, and finding a grey water tank to fit in the confines of the frame and body has been tough. Fresh water is going inside now, and hot water provided by a 6 gal point of use elect water heater. Pictures to come later after we figure it all out and install... thanks all folks! Curt

Well have finally put up the dreaded stainless and installed the "covers" over the wheel wells and fuel fill box.
My knee's and back got a workout, but its starting to turn the corner toward the finish line....still much to do and finish up...

NOSHp20, Where did you get your window and awning, and how much? The cheapest professional 60x40 unit I found so far is like 700+250 to ship. Im just wondering if its all worth it. Im tempted to install 2 vinyl 32X40's butted together then make my own awning like Reese did on his '1993 P30' using 1" aluminum U channel, foam boards, aluminum sheet and FRP on the inside, gas openers, piano hing, etc. costing like 250 all in.

I purchased my window from a company out of Georgia (call Chuck 706-829-9914) give them the dimensions
and what type of window you want. Standard is center opens with screen. I ordered mine with the ends both opening and center fixed. It comes complete ready to install with locking awning. They also build folding shelves that go below the window. I paid $995 shipped...or go with your plan on a home made one. I didn't have time to fab one.

We were able to get the main propane plumbing installed under the truck today....ya!!!

I re-purposed the back up light mounting hole to sneak the pipe through. (I have a mounted platform for the gen. and 100 lb bottle). Floor manifold requires a stand off to support it, not yet fabricated. My lights are being moved to brackets on the platform, and I will cover the "ugly" spaces with polished diamond plates.

Managed to finally install the vent hood today....The rooftop vent assy mounting foot is installed along with a sealed conduit for power. Its capped off until we finish other work. (It won't fit through my shop doors otherwise!)
