The wife and I attended a few years back and had a good time. They have some outlying locations to park and catch a shuttle bus to the downtown location so traffic is not a huge issue. Their parade was worth the trip all by itself.

Over a hundred thousand people attend Hillbilly Days, it's the second biggest festival in the state behind the Derby.

I sorta live in it in Knoxville, TN  :).  Pikeville is a place that you have to go there to get there.

If you've got a hankering for soup beans and cornbread it would be a good trek.

Pikeville is also the birthplace of MLB corner infielder Mark Reynolds.

I always have a hankering for soup beans and cornbread!  Unfortunately we won't be able to make it this year.

We can't attend either but will pour a tablespoon of soup beans on the ground in honor.
