I used to know my way around there pretty well.

Good places for take-out: good
Etc.: Good

Hi Greg, In most cases we just drive by Hood River either eating in Portland or waiting for Fish and Chips on the coast. I have heard of a Pizza that is getting real good reviews from Double Mountainhttps://www.thrillist.com/eat/nation/the-best-pizza-shops-in-america-2015  there is also a good article http://www.oregonlive.com/travel/index.ssf/2014/05/hood_rivers_best_of_the_best_f.html I have always liked the Columbia Gorge Hotel wonderful setting. I'm not sure about food now but I did like it in past years. I think it was more the setting I liked. The wind surfers have taken over the town over the years. The house prices are nuts and lots of cafes have opened. Have a great trip, I wish you great weather......The best........Bill

P.S. Don't tell Michael Hoffman about this place....
I think The Double Mountain place allows dogs if you sit outside.

A Word About Our Pizza: We make our 10" and 16” pizza pretty much the same way they do it in New Haven CT, the pizza capital of the world. We run our ovens at close to 700 degrees F, cooking the pies fast and creating spots of superficial char on the crust. It creates great flavor…
but if you think you’d like less char, please inform us ahead of time.
