I was visiting my parents today and Mrs. English from across the street (neighbors since 1972) brought over some tomatoes from her garden.  My wife sliced one for dinner tonight and said it was excellent, so as this is as close as we are to having a garden this year it'll have to suffice.

You know the old saying......
The only thing better than having a garden, is having a friend with a garden.

Lots of tomatoes again this season. Slicers. Not as large as last year's 2 pound 11 oz Mortgage Lifter. I'm on the Pacific NW coast and grow in a small unheated greenhouse. 9 plants in containers. I use tomato and vegetable food which has less nitrogen. Cucumbers in a raised bed. Already have 6 gallons of pickles put up. 2nd crop of lettuce started and red onions doing well. Hatch peppers still green but getting large. Picking out my selection of tomato varieties for next year already.

My one Fresno Pepper plant is going gangbusters...best one I've had in many years...

If you're not hip to Fresno's, they're worth checking out...

I had a cored & scraped Fresno on a grilled burger last week.

I also had salsa with 4 Fresno, 2 Jalapeno, & Tomatillo...all roasted, with red onion added later.
