I was surprised and impressed
Yesterday at our local Wendy's, the computers went down during the lunch rush. I think that the typical fast food operation would close down. They stayed open, for cash only, and wrote each order on a little scrap of paper. The order taker did the math on her cell phone, and the line moved along well. The audit must have taken extra time, and they lost a few sales to folks who only had a credit card, but all in all, it was nice to watch a "can do" crew in actioin.
