I went to Olive Garden yesterday

I didn't pick, but I'm glad that I went for the company, and the food was better than I expected.
I know local places that are a little better, with bigger portions, and slightly lower prices, but all in all, it was a good time.

The service, by a middle aged man, was great, and the food came quickly. (after all, I hear,,,,they only heat it at the local restaurant)

They were busy, and the vibe was of happy customers, and happy workers.

If I got to pick, it wouldn't be my first choice, because we have so many mid price choices in the Worcester area, but if I am asked to go there, I'll go without suggesting another place.

There is a reason there's an OG in just about every zip code.

Wow...nice things about a franchise. But to be honest, their simple Italian food doesn't take brain surgery to make and sauces are pre-done and most food is just heated, as you said. Went a few times(we make much of their menu ourselves at home),and it wasn't too bad.Soups were pretty good.I've had worse in some mom and pop places.

These are places for people that don't want to think. In many cases it's also family orientated and a much easier choice to accommodate everyone. I think there's choices for everyone and many of the chains are packed on the weekends. My wife and Mollie always want to pick places like Applebees and other chains when we travel out of town. I agree and take them but, I always walk out dissatisfied.

I've always considered Olive garden an Italian restaurant for people who don't like Italian food.

I always go to my Joe Rogo, Travel, Leisure and window installment guide to Italian restaurants around the world.

I know this is in the fast food/chain section, but I'm glad and perhaps should say blessed (yes I'm using that word very sarcastically) that everyone I know, knows me better than to pick a  chain when we go out for a meal. I'll admit some times the pick may not be my first choice, but it's NEVER a chain.

Whenever my wife travels with me I always am subjected to at least 1 visit to Cracker Barrel. Bless her southern heart.

My wife and daughter freaking love Olive Garden.  Of course all they ever get is the soup and salad.  I've been forced to go more than I care to admit.  Its like the McDonalds of Italian food.  I find that if you stay away from the red sauce its tolerable.

I hate Olive Garden, but they do have the best tiramisu I've ever had.

I think I got food poisoning or something. They had two soups on the menu.. I forget what but it was let's say minestrone.. the second one was sausage potato. The waitress warned me not to get that one, but I did. I didn't even finish it all and got sick. I don't go back there anymore except for tiramisu.

Did you mean to post this on Yelp?

My favorite comment on Olive Garden came from Kevin Nealon's character in the Showtime show "Weeds." His friends invited him out to lunch at Olive Garden and his reaction was "You people eat at the Olive Garden? I wouldn't take a **** at the Olive Garden!"
