Carolina Bob took me to Wagner's as well. They really put the pepper on the fried chicken! It was good! I went there again last September. I learned something on that trip: they have two chefs, one who puts a little pepper on the chicken and one who puts a LOT of pepper on it. Make sure you specify that you want a LOT of pepper on your fried chicken.
I've been going to the Kopper Kettle in Morristown since the early-1990s to eat their fried chicken, and I had no idea that the Bluebird restaurant was only a block away. I'll have to check it out.
