Im actually doing a truck build (yikes)

So, at the end of February 2017 I bought a 1997 Chevy P30. I drove her home and in the drive. This is where it began. I later stared out the window thinking..  what have you just done. Of course nobody ever has those thoughts

Best of luck to you. Do not get discouraged. Do not rush, PLAN OUT and THINK OUT every possible scenario. Whats the menu plan? Where are you located?

HPX, Im in MD and doing japanese food. You are right about thinking everything thru. I pondered this 3 years ago, but finally serious and started plans in November. Went from buy a used food truck, to have someone build one, to build my own. Didnt have the money for the first 2 options, so I took a deep breath and bought a truck. I was a little discouraged recently and will explain in a separate thread soon

    Blakkmoon,
You are a fun guy to have on the forums, always an entertaining read, and lots of very cool practical stuff to learn from.

It began end of Feb.   First thing was to gut the inside. It was gnarly!

Discouraged - yup - it's part of the game.
    But we learn to deal....

That which does not kill us ...bla bla bla ...

That floor looks like it was put down real good!

Layers and layers glued and screwed!

When I deconstructed my 1st truck, the ruble was over 900 pounds.

Can't wait to see more pics of your progress.

Finally got all the walls back to the studs...

Then built a wall up front...

Next I chopped out the nasty roll up door in the back with an angle grinder, and then built a wall, and installed a $120 pre hung steel external door...

Soon after that I started on the electrical. Installed an 8 gauge main inside grey pipe, to a 30A main service panel with about 6 circuits.  I mounted a power inlet box on the outside

Then installed 3 LED ceiling lights from Homedepot for $24 each...

Next came the fiberglass insulation in the walls...

and 1/2 inch plywood on all walls..

I decided to relocate a couple of rear lights as they would end up being behind a propane tank or generator.

I then couldn't wait to start on the FRP. First time using FRP

.. and finally got to handle some Stainless Steel...

Next day got to cut out the hole for the serving window..

and capped the rough opening with aluminum 'C' channel..

Thats it for now. Ill post more pictures soon, including the install of my $75 serving window, and the awning that I fabricated from aluminum channel, 10ga sheet, a piano hinge and some gas springs. Came out pretty good

    Nice!!
I am jealous of your progress.

Personally I wanted some detail on removing the rear door so I know what to expect.
    That's my next big job.
Doors are built and ready to go.

My roll up has to come out nicely though, as it is going to be re purposed in one of my brother's sheds.

Be careful with and respectful of that door! Since you want to save and re-use it. Have some help. It is heavy and clumsy to take down nicely without damaging you and whatever you have done inside. The door and the tracks need to come out separately. Best of luck on that

So far it looks like a standard garage door.
    Take off the tension.
and do one section at at time.

    Just all those bloody rivets!!!

Yes they are heavy and awkward for sure.
I got lucky taking off my roll up door. I didnt cut anything neither remove rivets. I removed the tension, and actually slid the whole thing backwards inside the cargo area all in one piece and it came right off (the door panels and me were in one piece)  Then I unscrewed the track, and the tension.  The whole removal took about an hour

Yeah, my tracks are all rivets.
To the roof ribs, to the back wall.... everything.

Yeah, that was one heavy mofo of a door!!
Oh well, I chose this right..
Had to grind off every rivet, even the bolts that held the tension rod were spinning, so grind away.
All day to get it all done.
I was grindin like a Vegas show girl!
