Essentially, Michael Hoffman would be able to ban himself!

Maybe in 15 years or so when he retires.

We need WJ & MH as moderators (Insert spooky sound here).

Back in the day, Chi-Chi's was where it was at for Mexican food. When I first got out of college, the closest Mexican restaurant we knew of was a Chi-Chi's in Toledo. A Roadfood book or Google might have given us better options.

Hey, what a great idea. On the other hand, that did come from a guy who was complicit in my getting a lifetime ban somewhere else.

But, I did get the same for myself!!! How fair is that!?

My first date was at a Chi-Chis. My little boyfriend's mother chaperoned. While Sean and I shot spitballs across the table at each other, Momma had herself a few drinks.

The second time I went, we had my small town southern grandma in tow whose only experience with tacos was the Old El Paso dinner my mother would make.

While I have fond memories of the company I kept at Chi-Chis, I remember thinking the food was crap. That's saying a lot, because as a child I was convinced York Steak House and Bonanza were pinnacles of fine dining.

"Crap?"

Ok, it was crap. But you got a lot for your money and I always walked out completely stuffed. That was a high priority for my dining choices back then.

I am here several times every day...when not ballroom dancing or cuddling with Joe Rogo. Mostly my work here is aimed at preventing all of you from finding places to obtain cheap credit cards from questionable sources.

That's not fair to grandmothers or to people who aren't grandfathers. This is the most unfair board I've ever been on.

Right. And after that trip down memory lane I am reminded that this place is unwelcoming. Why, I've heard that some people have even been banned.

I need to browse those old threads.  There's gold in there.  And names I haven't seen in quite some time.

Good to see you, Tony.  Do you still follow my twitter?

Also, at the time the chains forum was opened, all existing chain/ff threads were moved there, or at least that was the intent - so the grandfathering rule you speak of does not (as I understand it) exist

I misplaced my rule of order handbook and was just trying to wing it. This is why we need the Mayor to get well. He has all that stuff committed to memory. As for your second point, I never joke about cuddling.

They never had any Chi Chi's around San Antonio. Think they had some in New Jersey or New York as my sister mentioned eating at one. I think  or seem to recall my sister saying that ChiChi is actually slang for tits in spanish but might have to ask some hispanic people I work with. And yes it was the green onions that caused a problem.
Around here you really don't need a chain though we have the local chains Taco Cabana and Mama Margies.
There's a couple of other ones that are local too.
